Enhancing coordination processes

SaferAfrica identified the lack of coordination at a national, regional and international level as a main stumbling block to effective implementation of agreed small arms policies and agreements. The rate of delivery on these policies and agreements is improved through coordination and the sharing of information. Primarily as a result of the enhanced propensity for the role players, in sharing their information, to internalise the component steps for delivery, and to obtain feedback from their peers on the effective solutions for addressing obstacles. Common techniques utilised for enhancing coordination take the form of consultations, workshops and conferences.

SaferAfrica engaged in a number of activities focused on enhancing the coordination processes on small arms and light weapons. Some of the recent activities engaged with include:

  • Sensitization of Senior Management and Law Enforcement Agency Workshop
