Arms destruction in Tanzania (August 2003)
As a result of the implementation process of the National Action Plan in Small Arms and Light Weapons of Tanzania the police obtained voluntary surrender of over 5000 weapons which were publicly destroyed in august 2003 during Tanzania Police Day. Assistance in destruction was obtained through SaferAfrica, the EU Commission and the UK government.
