Workshops for participants on potential practical projects. Chairs: Chairs to be chosen among invited experts and civil society.
Conference divide into five workshops divide the participants and look at:
  1. education and training and public awareness
  2. micro development and business sector
  3. collection and monitoring
  4. research and facilitation
  5. community support mechanisms.
1030 - 1100 Coffee break
1100 - 1230 Report back:  
  Report back and summary of results and general discussion on the potential generation of an action plan for Namibia.

1230 - 1400 Lunch  
1400 - 1730 Parallel Sessions:
  1. Civil Society participants – voluntary networking Session (venue and agenda to be announced)
  2. Governmental Closed Session: Government officials to discuss the blueprint of the needs emerging for a coordinated implementation plan for Namibia.
Facilitation of closed Governmental Session: Invited experts Ambs M. Donowaki, C. Reyes and C. Dos Santos; Tanzanian official, SARPCCO and SADC, SaferAfrica and Saferworld. Workshop with inter-agency officials with facilitation by experts on:
  1. what structures need to be put in place for over sight;
  2. what coordination needs to be put in place between Police and Foreign Affairs, and between Namibia, SADC and UN processes;
  3. what capacity needs to be built to sustain the effort;
  4. undertaking a national assessment of needs (map ping of the arms situation in Namibia and its immediate region: including the legislation, operational measures, strengthening of operational capacity, micro-development, public awareness, recordkeeping, licensing, border controls, etc); and the
  5. creation of a comprehensive national plan of action.

DAY THREE: WEDNESDAY 9 OCTOBER
