FOREWORD BY SAFERAFRICA

SaferAfrica has had the honor of working closely with the Mauritius Police Force for many years, mostly as part of our ongoing regional work in support of SARPCCO’s regional training and legislation meetings serving those items that reinforce the implementation of the SADC Protocol of Firearms as well as ongoing work on capacity building for specialized policing tasks in the region.

During all our interactions with Mauritius personnel, we have admired the professionalism and deep commitment of the Mauritius Police Force in support of the safety and security of the people of Mauritius and the common safety and security of the SADC community. For SaferAfrica, Mauritius is the model of a country that strives for its prosperous future with courage, hard work and determination. It was, therefore, a pleasure to join forces with the Mauritius Police Force to assist in the creation of this Crime Prevention Report. We know that the Report will make Mauritius safe and will inspire other countries to follow its path. We stand ready to assist and to continue to support the Mauritius Police Force in this lofty endeavor. We congratulate the Mauritius Police Force on its leadership and professionalism in the creation and management of this Report.
